Traditional Studio Bedroom, own entrance, second floor

Many Traditional Madeiran Houses have an additional bedroom on the second floor (attic). This is accessed via its own external staircase at the rear of the building from within the cobbled courtyard. At the top of the stairs is an external seating area with views over the surrounding hillside to the rear.
Within the Studio is a sleeping area with Double bed and an en suite bathroom fitted with Shower, wash basin and Toilet.
The sea view window overlooks the Ocean and gardens.

The seperate entrance makes it unsuitable for young children but ideal for teenagers. This flexible accommodation also makes it highly suitable for young couples, or friends, within a family group, requiring extra privacy.
The bedroom has traditional shutters which are multi purpose. Not only for security, but to restrict the afternoon heat so that the room can remain cooler. The shutters have a modern perforation design, to allow air through but keeping out any unwanted light. We do not fit curtains, because these would restrict the natural airflow.
An Aircon / Comfort cooling unit with the latest technology, is also fitted. Thereby ensuring Guest ability to control the comfort of their room depending upon the season and the weather. The heating option is rarely required in Madeira ! Additional items of furniture are supplied to provide hanging and drawer space for Guest clothing.
